David Zohn is the Business Development Manager of Alpha Funding Partners. Whether it's to finance a fix & flip, new construction, or long-term rental, David is committed to helping borrowers achieve their investment goals. Following his time at UNC-Charlotte and Kean University, David excelled in the restaurant management and luxury auto sales before finally finding a home at Alpha Funding Partners. As a former college athlete, David enjoys staying active during his free time. His hobbies include golfing, snowboarding, hiking, and cooking.

Since 2016, Matthew has led Alpha’s Business Development, Marketing, and Sales efforts helping grow Alpha Funding Partners to one of the premier private lenders in the Northeast. He has been an integral part in helping Alpha originate $150M+ in loan volume in 2019 and over $600M in total capital deployed with more than 60-70% of Alpha’s business coming from repeat borrowers. Using his dynamic sales and business development background he has helped grow Alpha’s loan originations and revenue by 125% for the past 4 years in a row. Prior to joining Alpha, Matt completed his B.S. in Biology and A.S. Exercise Science and Physiology at William Paterson University. Along with real estate, Matthew has always had a strong passion for health and wellness.

Andrew is an innovative financial services executive with 30 years of experience as an academic, mentor, and practitioner leading companies in the design and execution of goal-driven investment strategies to create a branded platform for growth. He draws on his research as a Lecturer and a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. As Chief Investment Officer at Republic National Bank, he raised over 1 billion dollars in client funds in only three years; he later broadened this background, again as Chief Investment Officer, when he set-up and ran a Four Hundred Million Dollar ($400,000,000) multi-strategy fund. His history in the industry spans the full spectrum of fixed income; from Collateral Manager for three Asset Backed Securities Collateral Debt Obligations (“ABS CDOs”) and structuring a One Hundred Fifty Million ($150,000,000) Life Settlements Annuity program to raising over $4 billion in debt for various mortgage related structured products. Andrew is currently Chief Executive Officer of BroadSolutions in New York where he raised 40 million dollars of capital and purchased Towne Mortgage Corporation, a company he previously grew from 400 million dollars per year in originations to over 1.2 billion dollars with a servicing book of over 25,000 borrowers. Not only does his time as an academic and professional speak to his expertise, but he has also served as a designated expert witness and valuation expert for over 13 cases involving swaps, mortgages, and ABS CDOs.

Michael Strasser

Chief Operating Officer

Michael Strasser is the Chief Operating Officer for Alpha Funding Partners and joined our team in August 2013. Michael has a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers and a Master’s Degree from the New School. He has worked in several fields as a paralegal for real estate and immigration law firms and was an Assistant Producer for a Satellite Radio Program. Currently, Michael heads the Operations and Underwriting Department for Alpha and coordinates day to day activities. He also oversees our underwriting process. When asked for a piece of advice on hard money loans, Strasser says, “For Hard Money, always find the right deal, not any deal.” Michael enjoys everything to do with technology and in his free time he likes to travel to new places and play video games.

Bruce Lawner

Chief Credit Officer

Bruce Lawner is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of over 30 years of mortgage banking and private lending experience. As the Chief Credit Officer of Alpha Funding Partners, Bruce manages credit and lending operations while bringing his vast experience of Fix and Flip/Bridge Financing along with FHLMC FHA, VA, NON QM to the company. He has a BS in Business Management from the State University of New York College at Old Westbury. Bruce maintains his FHA Direct Endorsed Underwriting Chums # and MLO-NMLS# approval status.
