COMPANY HISTORY

JLJ Capital was founded in 2017 by Jonathan Lewis, Justin Podolsky and Lee Podolsky as a private independent real estate development company focused on lending on different types of commercial real estate throughout the continental United States, with a focus on New Jersey, New York and Texas.

JLJ Capital believes that many experienced real estate investors, owners, and operators have short term needs that banks cannot meet on a timely basis, and JLJ Capital’s goal is to be there for them with a time horizon of up to 36 months. The Fund was formed to provide investors the opportunity to participate in JLJ Capital’s vision.

The management team has 30 years of lending and operational experience in real estate in hotel and multi-family sectors. The extensive experience allows JLJ Capital to follow commercial banks’ underwriting standards while move quickly in origination and execution with robust deal flow through established relationships with real estate developers, owner’s operators, brokers, servicers, etc.

We view our customers as partners. Therefore, we feel an obligation to not only lend funds but to make sure that our partners have a successful outcome. With over 30 years of lending and operational experience our recommendations are carefully thought out.

We utilize experts in Architecture, Engineering and Construction to review all loans before approval. Since we view this as a partnership we not only meet our borrowers at their offices but have them come to our offices as well before we close our first loan. In order for us to lend money to a partner we want everyone to be comfortable with our process.
