PeerStreet was founded to help solve many of the problems in the mortgage finance industry that led up to the global economic collapse in 2008. By providing diversified capital sources for lenders through a transparent marketplace, we’ve created a flexible marketplace that can self-adjust through different market cycles. This two-sided marketplace provides transparency to all parties, aligning everyone’s interests — from lenders, investors, and borrowers, to the local communities they represent.

PeerStreet has created a secondary marketplace for private money loans that helps lenders originate more non-owner-occupied residential, multifamily, and commercial bridge loans. Soon, we’ll be funding longer-term buy-to-rent loans. Our goal is for private lenders to be able to compete with regional and national banks and service borrowers of all types.
